Summer’s Around the Corner
Ohhhhh, I can’t wait for warmer weather! The sunshine, warm air, long days and abundance of fresh fruits & veggies put a smile on my face.
In the fall & winter, frozen fruits make up the base of most of my homemade smoothies. In the summer, I tend to pick up more fresh produce at farm stands because it tastes better! If you’re a fan of Robeks, Jamba Juice or Smoothie King, try the recipe below. All you need is a blender, re-useable cup with a straw (if you plan to take it with you on-the-go) and a few simple ingredients. Feel free to tweak the recipe to your liking.
Easy Smoothie Recipe
- 1/2 lime (juice or pulp)
- One cup frozen strawberries (you can buy fresh and freeze for later use)
- One cup cold orange juice
- 1/2 cup seedless red grapes, frozen or fresh
- One cup cold water
- Fresh ginger
- Chia or flax seeds
- (An ice cube or two, if it’s hot outside and you don’t have time to freeze your smoothie)
Blend until nice and smooth and adjust the ratio of ingredients to your liking. Enjoy!
