Here it is. Fall’s perfect comfort food. Why is this dish perfect, you might ask? Well, it’s delicious AND nutritious. Kitchari is a vegetarian staple and it’s also a popular cleansing meal. It’s got the consistency of stew but you can add more water to make a perfect fall soup.
Here’s the basic recipe but feel free to substitute as you like and adjust the spice ratios to your preference. I prefer spicy food so I tend to get a little carried away with spice. Put on that apron and have fun with this recipe. All you’ll need is a loaf of crusty bread and butter/margarine to round out this meal. Enjoy 🙂
